Flights of a Coast Dog—A Pilot’s Log

$25.00

As a seaplane pilot-or coast dog-Jack Schofield flew British Columbia’s rugged and hazardous coast for twenty years. A natural story-teller, Schofield relates fascinating anecdotes about the colourful characters who crossed his path, including loggers, fishermen, tourists and Native residents who were adventurers and dreamers, entrepreneurs and eccentrics, all attracted to life on an isolated float camp or in remote communities, and describes the triumphs and tragedies of their lives.

book summary

Back in 2000 my book, Flights of a Coast Dog was awarded a BC Book Award, received a nice review in the then big Canadian Magazine, MacLeans, got me an interview on the CBC program Morningside and sold out in record time. The then publisher, Douglas & McIntyre, reprinted it once again — those copies sold out too. Another publisher took it on and was doing well with it when a fire burned out their book warehouse. The book was toast, so Coast Dog Press published it once more and guess what—Gonesville! So here comes print number 5 and what a deal..the original price of $25.00 CAD and mailed anywhere in Canada with free shipping.
